The jobs fair will be held virtually this time due to the coronavirus pandemic

Young people looking for a job, education or training opportunities will be able to attend a virtual jobs fair next week.

Now in its fifth year, the Live Vacancy event, which has been rebranded as ‘Which Way Now?‘, will be open to people aged between 16 and 19.

It will be held from 2pm on Thursday, July 1.

The event is hosted and organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council and Careers Wales.

A variety of employers and training providers will be at the event to offer advice and discuss potential job opportunities with attendees.

Information about college courses at Coleg y Cymoedd and Coleg Gwent will be available too, as well as information on higher education, apprenticeships and job search skills.

Previously, the event has been held at venues including Caerphilly Leisure Centre and Sue Noake Leisure Centre in Ystrad Mynach.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event will be held on video conferencing app Microsoft Teams.

Question and answer sessions will be held at the event through anonymous chat rooms, which will be recorded and uploaded to the council’s YouTube channel for those unable to attend.

Council leader Philippa Marsden said: “It is great to see a virtual replacement for such an important event during these difficult times.

“We are committed to providing education and employment opportunities for all our young residents, and we are delighted to be able to work with our partners again to be able to do this virtually.”

To attend the event, visit bit.ly/ccbcwhichwaynow at 2pm on July 1.
