A Tredomen-based education and training company has been been named as the best mid-sized company to work for in the whole of the UK.

Educ8, which opened its newly-revamped headquarters in February last year, was awarded the title by business engagement organisation Best Companies.

Best Companies works with employers across the UK, with the aim of measuring, improving and recognising workforce satisfaction.

The firm’s chief executive, Grant Santos, said it was “fantastic” to receive the award.

He added: “At Educ8 we are always striving to be the best and I am ecstatic that we have been accredited at a UK-wide level.”

“There is no doubt that the community spirit we have grown within Caerphilly, with most of our staff being based locally, and within the Educ8 team itself has had an invaluable effect on our accomplishments as a whole – from employee motivation to the high-quality service we deliver to our employers, learners and communities.”

The company was founded by Colin Tucker in 2004 in response to a skills shortage in south Wales.

Mr Tucker said: “Wales is not called the Land of Dragons without reason, and I think our award is proof that if we in Wales, and indeed in Caerphilly, truly believe in ourselves and set the bar high, we can set the business world on fire. I see no reason why Wales cannot become one of the leading business nations globally.”

Caerphilly Senedd Member Hefin David said: “There are many strong businesses across my constituency and Educ8 are a prime example.

“I am delighted that they have been awarded Best Mid-Sized Company and acknowledged again, for their ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing and inspiring leadership.” 

Wales’ Economy Minister Vaughan Gething said: “We have a raft of brilliant companies operating in this way across Wales, but Educ8 has consistently shown itself to be a leader in championing staff wellbeing year after year. 

“Their success is a great advertisement for employee satisfaction to all businesses, big and small, across the UK. I congratulate them on another fantastic achievement.”
