An exhibition showcasing the work of blind and partially-sighted photographers is being held in Caerphilly during April.

The photographers have captured a range of pictures and subjects ranging from wildlife to musicians performing, as well as portraits and art deco pictures. 

The exhibition will be held at Coffi Vista on the Twyn, Caerphilly town centre.

The photography group is run by one of Wales’ oldest charities, Sight Life – formerly known as the Cardiff Institute for the Blind.

Running for more than 150 years, Sight Life has helped more than 3,000 people with sight problems enjoy an active and social lifestyle.

Group member Des Radcliffe, who is registered blind and was formerly a freelance photographer, said: “The exhibition shows that people who cannot necessarily see very well, can still have a fun life doing what they enjoy.

“The group have chosen a sample of our work to exhibit and we hope the public find them inspirational and enjoy a lovely cup of coffee at Coffi Vista at the same time.”

The photography group meets regularly at Sight Life’s offices in Cardiff and have organised photography trips to the National Museum of Wales, St. Fagans Folk Museum, Cardiff City Football Club, The New Theatre, Cardiff Bay, Caerphilly Castle, and many other places of interest across south Wales.
