A grassfire which broke out on Rudry Common on Sunday evening is believed to have been caused deliberately, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has said.

The fire service was called out at around 9.56pm on Sunday, with the fire being fully extinguished just after midnight.

In a statement, the fire service said: “Multiple crews attended the scene and extinguished the fire using specialist equipment.

“The supposed cause has been deemed as deliberate.”
