The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has today announced that football will resume from Tuesday, September 13.

All football in Wales was postponed after the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, September 8.

After a ban on all football over the weekend, the FAW released the following statement this morning: “Following the postponement of football fixtures at all levels over the weekend as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Football Association of Wales can confirm that fixtures at all levels of the game can resume as of Tuesday, September 13.”

The FAW also said it plans on releasing a further statement on whether or not games can be played on the day of the Queen’s funeral, next Monday.

After the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) announced all senior games were postponed last weekend, it has since released a statement saying play will resume from today, Monday August 12.

Cricket still went ahead over the weekend, with Newbridge ending their season in defeat after a ten run loss to Croesyceiliog.

The loss relegates Newbridge from division one and concludes the cricket season in south Wales.
