A new business course for budding female entrepreneurs will get up and running this month.

The nine-week course, which will be run by Caerphilly-based start-up business hub Welsh ICE and Admiral, will start on May 18.

The course, called the Female Founders 5-9 Club, coincides with Admiral’s 30th anniversary year – with 30 women welcomed onto the programme.

It will be taught by industry experts and will cover topics such as idea generation, sales, marketing, branding, online, business planning, breaking barriers and imposter syndrome, as well as pitching ideas, funding and legal advice.

The course will be available online and in person, with extra support provided by Welsh ICE.

Welsh ICE chief executive Lesley Williams said: “Welsh ICE believes in supporting female founders to succeed and to help them achieve their full potential.

“Women entrepreneurs make significant contributions to economic growth and to poverty reduction around the world.

“We’re excited to provide a platform for budding female entrepreneurs in and around the Cardiff areas to gain the essential knowledge and support they need to succeed in their ventures.

“This partnership with Admiral will help us provide an even greater impact and give a boost to women-led businesses in our community.”

Danielle Jones, social purpose manager at Admiral, said: ”We recognise the role we can play in removing the barriers that many women face when looking to launch a business, and we want to ensure they have all the right tools, knowledge, and network to make it a roaring success.”
