A funding advice day to help community groups access funding will be held next week.
Information and advice on how to unlock funding for community groups in the Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney constituency will be held at the community centre in Dowlais on Friday, May, 19.
The event will be hosted by Gerald Jones, MP for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney, and his Senedd counterpart Dawn Bowden MS.
Possible funders include nationalgrid, GAVO and Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Mr Jones spoke to Caerphilly Observer about the event and said: “Our communities are fortunate to have a wide range of active community groups who work to make life better for residents.
“I know that groups are always looking for funding and that access to funds is more important now than ever.
“That’s why Dawn Bowden and I host the annual funding day and we look forward to welcoming people again this year.”
Ms Bowden said: “It is great to have the Funding Advice Day return as it is a good opportunity to learn more about current grants and funding opportunities that can help local groups.
“In previous years we know that many community groups have identified new ideas for funding along with guidance from experts that has helped them to prepare for future bids as well”.
“We hope that local groups will take advantage of the funding fair this year”.
It will take place on Friday, May 19 from 10am to 12.30pm at the community centre on Station Road, Dowlais.
