Around 800 runners took part in the Caerphilly 2k race

More than 2,400 runners ran through the streets of Caerphilly on Sunday May 15 as the Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k and 2k races returned for 2023.

In total, around 1,600 runners competed in the 10k, with around 800 in the 2k race, which was held earlier in the morning.

The 2k was won by Lucas Salvage, who completed the race in six minutes and seven seconds.

In second place was Tom Gilbert, who ran it in six minutes and 20 seconds, while third-place Harvey Lee clocked in at six minutes and 29 seconds.

The winner of the women’s 2k was Emily Walker with a time seven minutes and 25 seconds.

In second was Megan Pewtner, who completed the course in seven minutes and 28 seconds, with Eleanor Wright-Nicholas 0.2 seconds behind in third with a time of seven minutes and 28 seconds.

The runners were joined along the way by Ystrad Mynach boxer Lauren Price MBE and fellow-boxer Kariss Artingstall.
