56-year-old man dies after Tredomen collision

The A472, Tredomen

The 56-year-old man who died following a collision in Tredomen has been named by police as Darran Medd, from Merthyr Tydfil.

The incident happened on the A472 at around 2.20pm on Tuesday June 6.

Mr Medd, who was driving a white Ford Transit van, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Gwent Police officers attended the collision with personnel from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Wales Air Ambulance and the Welsh Ambulance Service.

Mr Medd’s next of kin have been made aware and are receiving support from specialist officers, Gwent Police confirmed.

Gwent Police has urged any motorists who were travelling on the road between 2.10pm and 2.20pm on Tuesday, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to get in touch.
