Gerwyn Price missed out on the chance to retain his New Zealand Darts Masters title after crashing out in the semi-finals over the weekend.
Price, who won the title back in 2022, was beaten by eventual winner Rob Cross, who saw off the Iceman in a 7-3 win.
It was Price’s first defeat to former world champion Cross since 2019.
En route to the semi-finals, Price, who hails from Markham, got his tournament underway with an impressive 6-1 win over Simon Whitlock, before sweeping aside Danny Noppert by the same scoreline in the quarter-finals.
Price will remain in the southern hemisphere as he heads to Australia to compete at the New South Wales Masters, which gets underway on August 11.
