Blackwood Miners’ Institute will be transported back in time to the 1970s as Disco Inferno hits the venue on Saturday November 11.

The show, set in London’s east end during the ‘burning summer’ of 1976, features the story of a young man’s struggle to break into the music industry – and the lengths he is willing to go to find success.

The two-hour production features some of the biggest hits from the time, including songs from the Bee Gees, Village People, Jacksons, Sister Sledge, Rose Royce, ABBA, Donna Summer, Barry White, Kool and the Gang, Earth Wind and Fire, Gloria Gaynor, Billy Ocean, Weather Girls, Candi Staton, The Trammps, Gap Band, Wild Cherry and more.

The show’s producer, Mark Halliday, said: “If you ever dreamed of going to New York’s famed discotheque Studio 54, Disco Inferno takes you there – in an all-singing, all-dancing celebration of everything D.I.S.C.O.”

Tickets can be bought from the Blackwood Miners’ Institute website or by calling its box office on 01495 227206.

The show, which is coming to Blackwood as part of its UK tour, gets underway at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £26.75, or £23.75 for concessions.
