A cheque worth £600 has been handed to Trinity Fields School after fundraising efforts from the Gelligaer Masonic Lodge.

The Ystrad Mynach school, which is for pupils with special educational needs, was presented with the cheque on Friday October 6.

The funds were raised during the lodge’s annual children’s Christmas parties, which were held before Covid restrictions.

Malcolm Rees, Master of Gelligaer Lodge, said: “We received a lovely, warm welcome and we hope our donation will help provide some additional sensory resources for the pupils.”

The Gelligaer Lodge, which meets in Bargoed, raises money for a variety of local and national charities and causes.

Anyone interested in joining the organisation can visit the South Wales Freemasons website for more information.
