Elliots Town post office could be relocating
Plans to turn the building into a cafe and takeaway have been approved

Plans to turn a former post office in Elliot’s Town into a cafe and takeaway have been approved.

The application to turn the building, located at 16 Elliot Street, into a takeaway was submitted by Premakanthan Nadarajah and approved by Caerphilly County Borough Council on November 21.

In the council’s decision letter, it states there were no objections from any consultees or comments from the public.

It adds that the takeaway is permitted to be open from 7am to 11pm from Monday to Saturday, and 7am to 10pm on Sundays.

However, no deliveries are allowed to be taken or dispatched after 6pm or before 8am from Monday to Saturday.

The new takeaway will be located across from the old Cwmsyfiog Ex-Servicemens Club on Queen’s Road. This club will be transformed into a shop with an upstairs flat, following approval by council planners in September 2023.

The application can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 23/0620/COU.
