Many Caerphilly County Borough sides were unable to play on December 9 as poor weather led to numerous games being postponements

Bedwas recorded their third win on the bounce over the weekend when they defeated Beddau 31-10 away from home in the WRU National Championship East.

The win sees Bedwas climb to sixth in the table. However, they were the only Caerphilly County Borough side in action in Wales’ second tier on Saturday December 9.

Cross Keys‘ clash with Islwyn rivals Newbridge was postponed, as was Bargoed‘s visit to Cardiff to face Rumney.

Penallta‘s trip to the capital to face St Peters was also called off, as was Ynysddu‘s League One East clash at Blaenavon.

However, one game that did go ahead was Risca‘s trip to Abergavenny. Risca won that one 34-13 to record their first win of the season in League One East.

But down in League Two East, bottom-of-the-table Oakdale were beaten 33-15 at home by Garndiffaith.

Over in League Three East, Machen climb to sixth after beating Llanhilleth 42-20 at home.

But Fleur de Lys were another victim of postponements – their game against Chepstow didn’t go ahead.

Dropping down to League Four East, Bedwellty beat Crickhowell 19-14 away, but they were the only borough side in action in that division.

Crumlin‘s visit to St Julians HSOB was amongst the cancelled fixtures, as was Hafodyrynys‘ trip to Bettws, and New Tredegar‘s game with Blackwood Stars.

No borough sides were in action in League Five East.

However, Trinant were beaten 17-14 at Old Tylerian in the only League Six East match to go ahead.

Bedwas earn bonus-point win at Beddau to climb to sixth
