Caerphilly County Borough Council is asking residents to have their say on the Blackwood masterplan, as the consultation period begins.
The plans, which are described as “ambitious” by the council, include shoring-up local job prospects, establishing Blackwood as a ‘sub-regional centre’ separate from Caerphilly, improving transport links, promoting wellbeing by enhancing or creating community facilities, and providing more housing.
By doing so, the council believes this will “strengthen the economy and improve cultural, environmental, and social conditions for both residents and visitors”.
The plan’s reach extends beyond the town centre too, and includes steps to improve or create community facilities in Cefn Fforest, Crumlin, Oakdale and Pontllanfraith.
To have your say on the masterplan, the council has provided an online survey as well as providing paper copies at public libraries in the area.
The consultation will close at midnight on Wednesday February 14.
For additional information on the masterplan or consultation, you can call the council on 01443 866766 or email regen@caerphilly.gov.uk.
