Bargoed and Cross Keys secured wins over fellow Caerphilly County Borough sides on Saturday March 2

Cross Keys have climbed to fourth in the WRU National Championship East following a 38-22 win over Penallta on Saturday March 2.

Bargoed meanwhile are just two points off league leaders Cardiff Met – with two games in hand – after defeating Newbridge 27-3 at Bargoed Park.

Elsewhere in the division, Bedwas‘ game with bottom-place Treorchy was postponed due to a high number of injuries at the Rhondda-based club.

Down in League One East, Ynysddu‘s promotion push continued with a 13-5 win away to Senghenydd.

However, Nelson‘s trip to Pontypool United, and Risca‘s clash with Abergavenny, were both postponed.

In League Two East, Oakdale lost 43-10 at home to Croesyceiliog, while Caerphilly crushed Gilfach Goch 66-7 at Virginia Park in League Two East Central.

In League Three East, Rhymney are up to third in the table after a 35-0 win at Llanhilleth. However, Abertysswg Falcons, Machen, and Fleur de Lys all had their matches postponed.

Abercarn, who didn’t play over the weekend, remain top of League Three East.

Meanwhile, League Four East leaders Crumlin had their game away to Whiteheads postponed, while New Tredegar‘s clash with Hafodyrynys was also called off.

Both Bedwellty and Blackwood Stars also had their matches with St Julians HSOB and Gwernyfed, respectively, postponed.

It was the same story for League Five East’s unbeaten league leaders Pontllanfraith. Their trip to Abersychan Alexanders didn’t go ahead either.

All fixtures in League Six East were also called off, meaning Deri‘s visit to Tredegar Ironsides, and Cwmcarn United‘s trip to Hartridge, were among the weekend’s postponements.
