The Tesco Express store in Castle View, Caerphilly, will be closed for around a month from this weekend.

The shop will shut at 4pm on Sunday April 14 for refurbishment, and is expected to reopen at 9am on Thursday May 16.

The post office within the store will be closed from 12.30pm on Saturday April 13 and will not reopen until 9am on Friday May 17.

A Tesco spokesperson said the temporary closure will “allow us to carry out a full refurbishment of the site”.

“We’re sorry for the inconvenience, and we look forward to serving customers in our improved store from mid-May.”

The store is set for a full refit, with new flooring and new fridges.

Santosh Samudrala, Post Office network provision manager, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work.

“The safety of our customers is of paramount. Therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it will be necessary for the service to close temporarily.”
