After only forming in the summer of 2023, Cwrt Rawlin veterans have been crowned South Wales Casual League division two champions.

Secretary of the vets David Tiltman told Caerphilly Observer how the squad picked-up 20 or so players in no time, and have gone on a great run since.

He said: “It has been a really good season actually. There aren’t many vets sides at this level and to go undefeated and gain promotion is great.

“We’ve mainly been playing in Cardiff and Merthyr. We have a cup semi-final soon but the date is yet to be announced.”

Cwrt Rawlin secured the league title with a 4-3 win over Llandaff Vets.

Mr Tiltman continued: “We play all our games on 4G so the weather doesn’t play a factor. It should be a good end to the season.”
