The council is giving away free wildflower seeds

Caerphilly County Borough residents, businesses and schools can claim a free pack of wildflower seeds.

The Caerphilly County Borough Council initiative aims to help residents connect with nature – as well as boost biodiversity and help pollinators such as bees, butterflies and more.

As well as native wildflower seeds, the packs will also include a guidance sheets and information about pollinators.

The packs will be allocated on a first come first served per ward basis, to ensure a fair distribution across the Caerphilly County Borough, the council has said.

Those claiming their free packs must be currently living within the borough, with only one pack permitted per household.

Anyone applying can request a pack of seed for a minimum area of 1m² or a maximum area of 10m².

The closing date for registering is May 31.

Contact the council on countryside@caerphilly.gov.uk or call 01443 816853 to register for a ‘Plant a Patch for Pollinators’ pack.
