Trethomas Bluebirds are set to host Cymru Premier opposition Barry Town United in round three of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
The tie is poised to be yet another notable chapter in the Bluebirds’ history, up against one of the most well-known brands in Welsh football.
In the first two rounds of the competition, which only features Cymru South, North, and Premier sides, the Bluebirds have impressed with a come-from-behind win over Cwmbran Celtic, and a 3-1 win with ten-men against Baglan Dragons.
This will be Barry’s second match of the tournament having received a bye in the first round. The Cymru Premier side scraped past Llanelli Town 5-3 on penalties last week.
Although the Bluebirds will be underdogs heading into the match, which is due to be played on either Tuesday September 17 or Wednesday 18, they do have an immense record at their home in Ystrad Mynach, and will be well-up for the challenge.
They have several key league matches before facing Barry however, starting with Ammanford away tomorrow (Saturday August 10).
