Gerwyn Price’s New Zealand Darts Masters campaign came to an end after he lost to Peter Wright in the quarter-finals.
Price, from Markham, defeated Ben Robb 6-3 in the opening round to set up a clash with two-time world champion Wright.
However, Price fell to a 6-4 defeat to the Scotsman in Hamilton on Saturday August 17.
Wright would go on to lose to Australia’s Damon Heta in the semi-finals, who in turn was beaten 8-2 by the world number one and reigning world champion, Luke Humphries, in the final.
Price won the New Zealand Darts Masters in 2022, and reached the semi-finals in 2023.
He went into this year’s competition off the back of a win in the Australian Darts Masters.
