Castle Gate Indian Restaurant has won at this year’s Food Awards Wales.

The restaurant, on Castle View, Caerphilly, was crowned take away of the year, adding to its previous victories in 2018 and 2019 when it won top restaurant.

The awards, organised by Oceanic Creative, celebrate the top culinary destinations in Wales.

Robi Ahmed, from Castle Gate, said: “I feel incredibly proud that Castle Gate has won another prestigious award. Our staff work tirelessly to provide excellent service, and I want to extend a huge thank you to all of our customers for their continued support.

“We offer an extensive range of contemporary Indian cuisine and I’m thrilled ee are now recognised as one of the top Indian restaurants in south Wales.”

A spokesperson for the Food Awards Wales 2024 said: “It’s an honour for us to highlight the top food establishments and businesses that have stood out amongst the rest in the Welsh food industry.

“This year’s winners reflect the resilience and creativity of countless chefs, producers, employees and managers who are always ensuring that locals and visitors eat well.

“We want to congratulate all of our winners.”

The winners were announced at a recent black-tie event at Cardiff’s Coal Exchange Hotel.
