❓ Wattsville Club House, on Islwyn Road, Wattsville, is holding a quiz night tonight, Friday September 20, at 7pm.

📗 Local author, Arthur Hutt, is launching his new children’s book, Twiggies, at a signing event in WHSmith, Caerphilly, on Saturday September 21 between 10am and 2pm.

☕️ A coffee morning raising funds for the Book Trust is taking place at the Caerphilly Miners Centre for the Community, in Watford Road, Caerphilly, on Saturday between 10am and 2pm.

🎭 A hilarious children’s puppet show like no other is how Minny Stynker is described. Being performed at Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Saturday at 2pm. Tickets from £11 via the ‘Stute website.

🛸 Tribute act The ELO Encounter is playing at Blackwood RFC on Saturday. Doors open at 7pm and tickets cost £12.

🤠 Bourton’s Live Music Venue, High Street, Bargoed, is presenting a night of country music from Rebecca Richards, and Kath and Beck. Starting at 8pm on Saturday with food served until 10pm. Call 07547 356595 for more information or email bourtonsbar@gmail.com

🍪 Bargoed Craft Fair and Market, run by Craft Legs, returns to the town’s Hanbury Square on Saturday. Get your crafts, gifts, and treats from 10am to 4pm.

🖌 Caerphilly Artisan Market is being held on Saturday between 10am and 2pm at the Twyn Community Centre

♟️ Risca Library is holding a series of different activities for children on Saturday. Board games are available throughout the day, while its storytime and Lego club is being held between 11am and noon. Chess club is being held between 2pm and 3pm.

🛍 Newbridge Memo is holding a market on Saturday between 11am and 4pm. Memo Market. Bargains include clothes, toys, games, accessories. Free entry.

🏛 Cadw will be holding free one-hour guided tours of Newbridge Memorial Hall and Institute on Saturday. The hour-long tours will run between 11am and 2pm. Visit Newbridge Memo’s website to book a place.

🏖 Business hub Welsh ICE is holding a ‘Hackathon’ based around the theme of boosting tourism in the Caerphilly area. The free event is happening between 10am and 6.30pm at the Meadows Wildlife Park on Monday September 23. Tickets can be booked here.

🗣 English language classes for non-native speakers are held every Wednesday at Nelson Library between 2pm and 4pm.

🏛 Blackwood Community History Group is presenting a talk by Lyn Pask on Blackwood’s ‘founding family’ The Moggridges at Blackwood Library on Wednesday September 25 at 2.30pm.

🎭 Comedy The Three Musketeers (recommended for children aged 11+) is at Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Thursday September 26 (7.30pm), Friday September 27 (7.30pm), and Saturday September 28 (2.30pm). Tickets from £15 via the ‘Stute website.
