Trethomas Bluebirds players celebrating their shock victory over Haverfordwest County
Trethomas Bluebirds claimed a shock 2-1 win the last time they faced Haverfordwest

The second round draw of the Welsh Cup has been made, as both Aber Valley and Trethomas Bluebirds discovered their opponents.

The pair have both drawn tough opposition, with Aber Valley through to the second round after a comfortable 3-1 win at home over Cwmamman United on the weekend.

Aber Valley are set to host again in round two, as they’ll welcome Ardal South West side Swansea University to Aber Park.

For the Bluebirds, they face an even more daunting task on the road to Cymru Premier side Haverfordwest.

The two clubs famously have history as they met in this very competition during the 2022/23 season.

Even more famously than that, the Bluebirds actually won that match 2-1 thanks to a last minute Levi Rees goal.

Mark Dunford’s side will be looking to cause a similar upset when they travel to west Wales on either Friday October 18 or Saturday 19.
