More than 4,000 people visited Caerphilly town’s Winter fair

Thousands of people descended on Caerphilly town for its Winter fair, despite the wet and blustery conditions.

Caerphilly’s Winter fair and River of Light Lantern Parade still went ahead on Saturday November 30, despite some bad weather, and saw more than 4,000 people visit the town centre.

The fair hosted a variety of food, drink and crafts stalls, as well as other entertainment such as Santa’s Grotto, puppet shows, live music, Caerphilly on Ice, and more, before the River of Light Lantern Parade took over for the evening.

The parade showcased more than 650 lanterns that were made in workshops over previous weekends.

Other markets in Caerphilly including Ffos Caerffili, Caerphilly Artisan Market, Crafty Legs Fair and Market, Castle Court Craft and Food Market, and local businesses were also well supported over the weekend.

Bargoed Winter Fair cancelled for second consecutive year due to Storm Darragh
