Swansea City Women were too strong for Cascade on the day as they exit the cup

Despite the bad weather, Cascade Ladies managed to play their Adran Trophy quarter-final match against Swansea City women at a blustery Centre for Sporting Excellence over the weekend.

They might now wish the match in Ystrad Mynach had been postponed, as the hosts lost 5-0 to Swansea Women, who are a semi-professional outfit from the Premier division.

An Emily Richards goal after 17 minutes put the visitors ahead, who were soon 2-0 to the good before half-time thanks to a Stacey John-Davies goal.

John-Davies went on to grab her hat-trick with a second-half brace, as Jasmine Guymer scored the fifth late on to wrap-up a good days work for the Swans.

Cascade Ladies battled hard but fell short against a top side

Cascade now have a fair break over Christmas, returning to action on January 5 against Cogan Coronation in the South Wales Women’s Cup.
