To celebrate the festive season, children aged between four and 11 were asked to design a colourful festive mural to be featured in Caerphilly town centre.
Ten-year-old Rosie, from Cwrt Rawlin Primary School, has been announced as this year’s winner, with her design now on show as a mural at ‘Y Banc’ – the former home of Barclays Bank.
Judging the art was Caerphilly Council deputy leader Jamie Pritchard, alongside council town centre support officer Rhiannon Taylor, Caerphilly Library assistant Marcus Edwards, and Louise Whan, a window artist from The Crafty Couple.
Rosie’s colourful creation captured the eyes of the judges who were impressed with her illustration of Caerphilly Castle.
Her drawing has now been turned into a Christmas window mural in Caerphilly town centre by artist Louise Whan.
