Eight new homes could be built on land off Meadowland Close in Caerphilly.

Emtrek Property Developments Limited has applied for planning permission for the development of “sustainable new homes in a highly accessible location”.

The site backs onto the former Virginia Park Golf Club, where unrelated work is ongoing to build up to 350 new homes.

The proposed location of the eight new properties is privately owned but has been earmarked for development following discussions with the freeholders, planning agents Arden Kitt Architects said in a design statement.

Caerphilly County Borough Council approved a scheme for 11 homes on the land in 2018, but that planning permission has since expired.

According to the planning agents, the eight homes proposed will “fit comfortably with existing neighbouring residential properties”.

The application is currently out for consultation, and can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 24/0795/FULL.
