Lauren Price is now unified champion of the world

Lauren Price MBE has signed a multi-year contract extension at Boxxer following her recent victory over Natasha Jonas.

Price, 30, from Ystrad Mynach, signed a professional contract with the promoters back in 2022 and has won all nine of her fights since.

Earlier this month, the Tokyo Olympic champion unified the WBC, IBF, WBA, IBO and Ring Magazine World Welterweight Titles by beating Jonas at London’s Royal Albert Hall earlier this month.

Now, having extended her contract, Price’s focus is on winning the only remaining belt in the division.

Mikaela Mayer defends her WBO World Title in a rematch against Sandy Ryan, in Las Vegas on March 30, and Price wants to face the winner in an undisputed battle later this year.

She said: “It was incredible to fight at the Royal Albert Hall. To become unified world champion and to headline such a historic night was a special feeling.”

Lauren picked apart her opponent Jonas

Price continued: “When I turned pro after winning Olympic gold, I knew I wanted to do something special in the sport. To be a unified champion in just my ninth fight is a great achievement, but I want all the belts.

“I believe I’m the best in the division and I want the winner of Mikaela Mayer and Sandy Ryan next.”

Ben Shalom, founder and CEO of Boxxer, hailed Price as a “special talent” and said: “We’re delighted that she has extended her contract.

“Her performance against Natasha Jonas, who deserves a huge amount of credit for what she has achieved in the sport, was exceptional.

“I believe Lauren is the best in the division and has the potential to become the best pound for pound.”

He added: “She wants the winner of Mikaela Mayer and Sandy Ryan for all the belts, and that’s the fight we want to make next.”
