Dylan Harley of Bargoed

A Bargoed man who ‘”spread misery” by selling heroin and crack cocaine has been jailed.

Dylan Harley was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday April 1, following a police investigation into the supply of class A drugs in Caerphilly County Borough.

Harley, 44, was arrested during a police raid at his address in Oak Place in January this year. Officers found and seized class A and B drugs, weapons, cash, a mobile phone and drug paraphernalia.

Harley admitted charges of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – heroin, concerned in the supply of heroin, and concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.

He also admitted possession of an offensive weapon and possession of criminal property.

Harley was sentenced to three years and nine months imprisonment.

Inspector Lysha Thompson, who leads the neighbourhood team that arrested Harley, said “Class A drugs, particularly heroin, can rip families and communities apart.

“Dealers prey on the vulnerable and spread misery – with no thought but lining their pockets.

“Neighbourhood officers across Bargoed and Rhymney are continuing to target those we believe to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs and hope this case and result highlights that we will act on any information you have.”
