Further education colleges in Wales will receive a share of £5 million to better serve students with additional learning needs (ALN).
The Welsh Government funding will go towards creating more accessible and inclusive learning environments across the country’s 13 further education colleges.
Vikki Howells, the Welsh Government’s minister for further and higher education, said: “The £5m I’m announcing today will make a real difference to students with additional learning needs in further education colleges up and down the country, making sure they have the facilities they need to reach their full potential.”
Ms Howells, who is a former assistant head of sixth form at Caerphilly’s St Cenydd Comprehensive School, added: “This funding reinforces our commitment to making education accessible for all students, regardless of their learning needs.”
The funding will go towards upgrading existing specialist resources, buy new equipment, and improve accessibility to college buildings.
