The 2025 Premier League Darts champion will be crowned this evening, as four players compete in the play-offs at London’s O2 Arena.

Among them is Markham’s Gerwyn Price, who returns to the play-offs for the first time since reaching the final in 2023.

Following a disappointing 2024, Price has returned to form this year, clinching Premier League night wins in Dublin, Nottingham and Liverpool and recording nine-dart finishes in both Manchester and Aberdeen.

It was enough to see Price finish fourth in the league standings and book his spot in tonight’s showpiece in the capital, where he will be joined by Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, and Nathan Aspinall.

How do the play-offs work?

Ranking points are awarded per night – with five to the winner, three to the runner-up and two to the semi-finalists – to form the league table from which the top four players will progress to the play-offs.

Following the end of the league phase, Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn Price qualified for the play-offs, while Michael van Gerwen, Chris Dobey, Rob Cross, and Stephen Bunting were all eliminated.

The play-offs will be played at The O2 in London on Thursday May 29, with two semi-finals and a final – with the winner crowned Premier League Darts champion.

A £275,000 top prize awaits the winner on Thursday May 29, with a sell-out crowd of 14,000 fans expected at the O2.

Price will face last year’s Premier League champion Littler in the first semi-final, with the winner of that clash meeting Humphries or Aspinall in the final.

While Littler has won the last two meetings between the pair, Price had won the previous six – the longest winning run any player has enjoyed against the teen sensation.

“It really doesn’t bother me who I play. I know if I’m going to win, I have to perform at my best,” declared former world champion Price.

“I’m just focused on myself, and if my A-game is there, then I believe I will win this title.

“I wasn’t sure whether I’d ever make the play-offs again. This hasn’t been the greatest tournament for me in the past, so I’m over moon to be back.

“I haven’t been ultra-consistent this year, but I’ve done enough. My frame of mind has been more positive, and my game is in a much better place as a result.”
