Chair and winner Liz Elsworth and judge Nick John Rees

Caerphilly’s annual art exhibition is open, and has already been described as a “great success” by those involved.

The exhibition, which is held inside the Twyn Community Centre, opened on Tuesday May 27 when marine artist Nick John Rees judged the competition.

The event was “very well attended” according to chair Liz Elsworth, who finished first in the competition with her piece of art.

Ms Elsworth added that over 90 paintings are currently on display, with some having already been sold.

She said: “As chairman of the society , I am extremely proud of the members and the quality of work produced, and the effort they have all made to help us put on this year’s exhibition.”

The exhibition will run for two more days, between 10am and 3pm on Friday, and between 10am and 5pm on Saturday.
