The Stars are preparing for life in the second tier after winning the league last season

The FAW has announced the Cymru South fixture list for the upcoming 2025/26 season, with Trethomas Bluebirds and Treowen Stars learning their opening day opponents.

Week one will open up in late July as the Bluebirds host Lee Trundle’s Trefelin on Friday July 25. That was a fiery encounter last season, and is sure to kick the season off on the right foot.

On the Saturday and Treowen Stars also open the season at home – they face Cambrian United at Bush Park having topped the Ardal South East last season to secure promotion.

The pair will first clash on matchday five, as Paul Evans’ Trethomas host Ben Murphy’s Treowen in Ystrad Mynach on Monday August 25 for some bank holiday football.

“Very excited to get started”: First look at new Trethomas Bluebirds boss

Bluebirds v Newport City is always one to look forward to, as Trethomas make the short trip to Newport for a Friday night game on October 10.

That same week, the Stars will face relegated Aberystwyth Town at home. That’s sure to be a tester for all sides in the Cymru South.

One game the whole league is set to stop and watch will be Pontypridd United v Trethomas Bluebirds on Friday November 28.

Departed Bluebirds manager Mark Dunford is the new Ponty boss, as both club’s will be keen to secure bragging rights until they meet again in Ystrad Mynach on March 20.

Boxing Day fixtures are always a fun watch in any division, and even more so here as Treowen will host the Bluebirds on December 26. The short trip is sure to put a smile on the faces of all involved.

Last day of the season and the Bluebirds will head west to face Baglan Dragons, while the Stars host Carmarthen Town.

A full list of fixtures for all sides can be found online.
