The Under-20s Six Nations Summer Series is underway in Ystrad Mynach, showcasing the next generation of female rugby union players.

Following a successful inaugural event in Italy last year, the competition is now in Wales – and the Centre for Sporting Excellence – for the first time.

The tournament features predominantly under-20s squads from Wales, England, France, Ireland, Italy, and Scotland, with teams permitted to include up to five under-23s players per matchday squad.

The event, which is being played over three matchdays, kicked-off on Saturday July 5, with Wales losing 29-10 to Ireland.

The day also saw England beat Scotland 31-17, while France earned a big 46-5 win over Italy.

Two more matchdays remain, with all games free to attend – with no tickets needed.

Italy v England will kick things off once again in Ystrad Mynach at 3pm on Friday July 11. It will be followed by Ireland v France at 3.30pm and then Scotland v Wales at 6pm.

The final matchday will be held at the same venue on Thursday July 17. It will open up with Scotland v Ireland at 1pm, with Wales playing Italy from 3.30pm. France and England wrap things up, with that clash kicking off at 6pm.
