Gerwyn Price will face Northern Ireland’s Josh Rock at the darts World Matchplay quarter-finals on Friday night.
Price, from Markham, stormed into the quarters following a second round win over Chris Dobey.
It followed a first round victory over Rock’s compatriot Daryl Gurney.
The competition, which is being played at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, began last week, but concludes on Sunday July 27.
Price’s clash with Rock will be the second time this competition he has played one of the Northern Irish duo who won this year’s World Cup of Darts.
Representing Northern Ireland, Rock and Gurney saw off Wales’ Price and Jonny Clayton in a thrilling final last month.
Price has never won the World Matchplay before, but reached the final in 2022.
If he can beat Rock, Price will take on either Luke Littler or Andrew Gilding in the semi-finals – with either Clayton or James Wade awaiting in the final.
