The annual Tour de Gwent cycle ride is back this September, raising money for St David’s Hospice Care.

The event, which is being held on Sunday September 14, includes four routes of varying distances, meaning cyclists of all abilities can take part.

The platinum route covers a distance of 102 miles, while the gold route is 82 miles. Both of these routes include conquering the steep Tumble in Monmouthshire.

The silver route is 57 miles long, and the bronze route is the shortest at 32 miles.

All four routes start and finish at Tiny Rebel Brewery in Rogerstone between 7.30am and 12.00pm. The aim is for each route to be completed by 5pm.

There won’t be road closures in place for the event, so participants are asked to be mindful of traffic and pedestrians, and wear helmets at all times.

Entry fees range from £35 to £60.

Visit the St David’s Hospice Care website to register.

The race comes a week after the Tour of Britain’s final stage, which will see world-renowned cyclists, including 2018 Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas, race through Caerphilly County Borough en route to the Cardiff finish line.
