Treowen Stars are one of four Caerphilly sides in the first round draw

The draw for the first round of the Welsh Cup is set to be made this week, with four Caerphilly County Borough sides in the pot.

Cymru South side Treowen Stars will be in the draw, alongside Ardal South East outfits Abercarn United and Caerphilly Athletic.

Abercarn reached the first round after beating Rockspur 2-1 at home in the second qualifying round on Saturday August 23.

Caerphilly Athletic advanced following a 1-0 victory away to Aberdare Town.

Pentwynmawr Athletic, who play in Gwent Division One, have also reached the first round following a 2-0 home win over Nelson Cavaliers.

However, Cwmcarn Athletic missed out after a 3-1 home defeat to Pontyclun.

The draw will be made at 8pm on Thursday August 28.
