Senghenydd RFC is hosting a celebration of women’s rugby this weekend as the club hold its first Ladies Day Cup.
The event, which will be free to attend, is being held on Sunday November 30.
The celebration gets underway at 12pm, when Nelson Belles U14s take on the Caerphilly-based Chargers U14s side.
It will be followed by Senghenydd Sirens’ senior side, who face West Swansea Hawks in a key Championship League match at 2.30pm.
The event will culminate with Caerphilly town mayor Mike Prew making the Ladies Day Cup presentation.
It will also be a chance for the club to recognise Sengehenydd Sirens players who have earned Welsh caps, and formally add their achievements to the club’s history.
The club is hoping the Ladies Day Cup can become an annual event, celebrating the continued growth of women’s and girls rugby.
