A 19-year-old from Rudry has been selected to represent Wales at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this month.

Lowri Windsor, a student at the University of Bath, is one of 12 players picked for Team Wales’ netball side.

Windsor started playing the sport for Gilfach Netball Club as a junior, before moving to Cardiff to play for CTK and Dinas Devils. Over the last few seasons, Lowri played for former Netball Super League side Seven Stars, who were based at Worcester University before they disbanded in 2024.

Windsor predominantly plays at wing-attack, but can also play centre.

She represented her country at last September’s Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar.

After finishing her first year at university, Windsor received the Most Improved Player Award for Team Bath, despite only making her NXT Gen League debut back in March.

At Glasgow 2026, Wales will compete in Pool B alongside New Zealand, Jamaica, Uganda, Scotland, and Trinidad and Tobago, with pool matches taking place from July 25 to July 30 before classification and medal matches conclude the competition.

The squad also includes experienced internationals like Bethan Dyke and Georgia Rowe, as well as younger players who have progressed through Wales Netball’s performance programme.

Wales head coach, Emily Handyside, said: “This is an incredibly exciting moment for everyone involved in Wales Netball. Every athlete selected has earned their place, and we know what this moment will mean to them, their families, clubs, and communities.

“The group reflects the dedication, resilience and talent we have within our programme,” she explained.
