A Bargoed man has been given a two-year Antisocial Behaviour Order (ASBO) by magistrates.

Paul Skidmore, 20, from Gilfach Street, Bargoed, was handed the ASBO by Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court for bad behaviour dating back to September 2009.

The court was told Skidmore displayed frequent antisocial and nuisance behaviour in the Gelligaer and surrounding areas of Caerphilly county borough.

Despite warnings under Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership’s ‘four strikes’ rule his behaviour continued.

The ASBO prevents Paul Skidmore, anywhere within the Caerphilly County Borough Council area, from:

  • Acting or inciting others to act in a manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons not of the same household.
  • Throwing any object at any property or vehicle.
  • Urinating in any public place except for public lavatories.
  • Lighting a fire on land to which the public has access.

PC Claire Young, Crime and Disorder Reduction Officer for the Bargoed area, said: “This is the fourth person in this area to be made subject of an AntiSocial Behaviour Order in the last 12 months.

“We will continue to deal with anti-social behaviour in a positive manner and target the small minority of people who are effecting people’s quality of life in and around the Gelligaer area.”
