UPDATE:Police issue CCTV images in road death mystery case
The family of 27-year-old Ian Hamilton, who was mysteriously found dead in a road near Blackwood has paid tribute to their son.
In a statement released through Gwent Police, the family said: “Ian will be remembered by us, his brothers, girlfriend and grandfather as a loving, outgoing person who loved life and lived it to the full.
“He was kind and generous and enjoyed keeping fit and was well known for his running.
“Although living in Bristol, Ian kept in contact with us and it gives us some comfort at this sad time that we spent the evening with Ian prior to this tragedy.
“Ian will be greatly missed by us all and his many friends.
“Sleep tight son.”
Mr Hamilton, who was also known as Parker, was found dead at the side of Penmaen Road, between Oakdale and Pontllanfraith, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gwent Police is treating the death as unexplained and has appealed for information from the public.
Mr Hamilton was last seen walking from the bus station area in Blackwood and it is known he walked along Penmaen Road in the direction of Oakdale.
Officers want to speak to anyone walking or driving along the road between 2am and 4am, in particular the drivers of two light coloured saloon vehicles seen on the road during that time.
