A Newbridge woman killed in a car crash with a Stagecoach bus has been named.

Michelle Jenkins, 39, was driving her Rover convertible on the A467 between Crumlin and Aberbeeg, near the Glandwr Industrial Estate, when the crash happened just after 10.50am on Saturday January 2.

A Stagecoach spokesman said: “Our first thoughts are with the family of the driver of the car who died in the accident.

“The bus was operating the X18 service between Ebbw Vale and Newport. One passenger on the bus was treated for minor cuts and bruises. Our driver was shaken, but uninjured.”

Gwent Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them on 01633 838111.
