Two Caerphilly men in court over murder of Newport father Tony Singh

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 09:00, Thursday February 17th, 2011.

Two Caerphilly men are to stand trial charged with the murder of Newport father Tony Singh.

The body 24-year-old Mr Singh was found at his flat in Bryngwyn Road, on November 15 last year. A post-mortem revealed he died of a head injury.

Karl Drummond, 35, of Atlee Court, Caerphilly, and Shahid Rafiq, 36, of Bryn-Yr-Ysgol, Caerphilly, will stand trail with George Glover, 39, of Stanley Road, Liverpool.

All three men denied killing Mr Singh at a hearing last week at Cardiff Crown Court and were remanded in custody.

They also deny conspiring to rob Mr Singh. The trial has been listed for July 4.

So sad. I grew up with Tony in Birmingham and he was a lovely lad from a lovely family
