Man cautioned after 24-year-old man found injured in Croespenmaen

A 23-year-old man arrested after a 24-year-old man was found injured in a Croespenmaen street has been cautioned by police for common assault.

The 24-year-old victim was found outside properties in Pen-y-bryn, Croespenmaen, on Saturday August 13.

A 17-year-old girl arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and assault and a 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs have both been released with no further action.

A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and sexual assault remains on police bail pending further enquiries.

Gwent Police said officers are continuing to investigate and anyone with any information is asked to contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

  • Four people have been charged and have appeared in court.Thomas Mark Davies, 22, originally from Trinant but of no fixed abode, has been charged with sexual assault by touch.Liam Price, 21, Niall Price, 19, and Owain Turner, 21, of no fixed abode, have been charged with sexual assault by penetration and actual bodily harm. All four appeared before Newport Crown Court on Thursday August 25 and have been remanded in custody to appear again on October 21.
