Project to boost people’s IT skills in Caerphilly County Borough

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 16:39, Wednesday December 28th, 2011.

A new three-year initiative in Caerphilly County Borough is help people improve their computer skills.

The project, called Get IT Together, is focused on helping older people and individuals with disabilities gain basic IT skills and realise the benefits of being online. Sessions are tailored towards the learners’ own personal interests and are delivered by friendly, approachable volunteers.

Project Co-ordinator Kerry Goodenough is working in partnership with charities, libraries, schools, community groups, housing providers and other agencies to ensure that basic IT courses are available.

In addition, thanks to the support of local company Partners IT, the project has a number of free computers available to individuals or community groups that meet certain criteria.

For more information call Kerry on 07969604409 or e-mail kerry.goodenough@citizensonline.org.uk
