Police in Bargoed town centre are warning motorists not to park illegally after a rise in motorists parking on pavements.
After recent road changes in the town centre, motorists are parking their vehicles on pavements throughout the town centre causing a problem for motorists and pedestrians.
Gwent Police has said it wants to remind people that it is an offence to drive on to a pavement and a fixed penalty tickets of £30 will be issued to drivers caught doing so.
Bargoed Traffic Warden Katrine Wright said: “We are urging motorists to be considerate of businesses receiving their deliveries and use the three car parks available in Bargoed. We want to remind drivers that anyone found disregarding the restrictions will face a fine and possibly points on their license.”
A surgery will be held at Bargoed Library on Tuesday January 31 between 11am and 2pm for people to discuss the situation.
Ms Wright and community safety officer Lisa Humphries will be available to answer questions about parking in Bargoed town centre and to explain future restrictions.

Can they do the same in Caerphilly, because many motorists not only park on the pavement, they aslo do it where there are double yellow lines. On the other hand I cant remember when I saw a policeman, or even a parking warden in Caerphilly.
