Caerphilly-based PHS looks to expansion at subsidary

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 16:00, Wednesday February 1st, 2012.

The secure document shredding arm of Caerphilly-based group PHS has invested £1.2m on new machinery as it looks to expand.

PHS Datashred, a subsidiary of £400m turnover workplace services group PHS, has spent the money on new shredding equipment at its Manchester and London depots as well as four mobile shredding vehicles.

Anthony Pearlgood, commercial director of PHS Datashred, said: “This is an exciting time for PHS Datashred. We’re developing the technological capabilities of the business so we can offer customers the most thorough service possible. This year we’re aiming to increase our nationwide client portfolio even further whilst being more environmentally responsible and offering a quicker service on site.”

In 2011 PHS Datashred started working with many high profile new clients including Barclays Bank, Rothchilds and various Government departments.

The PHS Group, which has its headquarters on Caerphilly’s Western Industrial Estate, is made up of ten different companies offering workplace services and consumables.

The £400m-turnover group employs about5,000, and operates 90 regional service branches.
