Caerphilly’s Citizens Advice Bureau praised in report

Caerphilly County’s Citizens Advice Bureau has been praised in an independent report by auditors.

The audit, by national Citizens Advice, rates the quality of advice of the bureau as ‘very good’. The bureau’s administration, finances and other systems are also up to the standard expected of a Citizens Advice Bureau guaranteeing continuing quality.

The Caerphilly bureau has been rated in the top 25% of all Citizens Advice Bureaux in England and Wales.

Simon Ellington, director of Caerphilly County CAB, said: “This is a real vote of confidence in the bureau and I’m delighted with the result. It shows that clients can be sure that they will get very good advice from Caerphilly County CAB. I’d like to thank all the staff, paid and unpaid, in the bureau for the hard work that made this result possible.”

Each Citizens Advice Bureau has to undergo a rigorous audit every three years to ensure it can remain a member of the national Citizens Advice association and that it can retain its Legal Services Commission ‘Quality Mark’. The test for quality of advice is designed to strengthen the audit and ensure consistent, high quality service across the Citizens Advice service.
