Consumer Focus Wales has announced the appointment of a new senior director.
Rhys Evans, the consumer watchdog’s current deputy senior director, will take up his new post on April 1 succeeding Maria Battle, who is to take up a new post as chair of the Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board.
Viv Sugar, chair of Consumer Focus Wales, said: “I am pleased to announce that Rhys Evans will become the Senior Director of Consumer Focus Wales when Maria Battle leaves us at the end of March. Rhys has a strong record in consumer affairs having worked for Consumer Focus Wales since it began, and the Welsh Consumer Council prior to that. He has done an impressive job as deputy senior director for the last three years.
“I know he already has the confidence of the board, and a wide range of stakeholders, and I look forward to working with him to ensure that the changes about to take place in the consumer landscape across the UK will enhance the protection available to consumers in Wales.”
